National Dairy Month - June each year

National Dairy Month is celebrated in the United States each June. It may be a surprise that this holiday has been around for a very long time (since 1937)! This monthly celebration actually began as a promotional venture for milk products but now one of the larger goals of National Dairy Month is to celebrate and promote the health benefits of dairy.
Dairy has lots of excellent nutrients such as protein, calcium, and vitamin D. Milk most commonly comes from cows, but did you know that we can even raise animals likes goats, yaks, camels, and even reindeer for milk! Getting dairy milk from animals besides cows can be really beneficial especially for anyone that has an allergy to dairy. While milk is a very common dairy product, there is a lot more that you can do with milk such as making it into butter, cheese, and ice cream, yum! Can you imagine having a bowl of ice cream made from reindeer milk?
Below are some different dairy and milk themed crafts to help you celebrate the fun month of June! We also have some milk carton crafts that would be great once you've finished off that last glass of milk!
