Paper Plate Smiley Face with Graduation Hat
Celebrate your little one's graduation with a joyous crafting project. Today, we'll be making a delightful Smiley Face wearing a Graduation Hat, using simple materials like a paper plate and construction paper. Not only will it bring smiles to everyone's faces, but it's also a wonderful way for children to participate in graduation celebrations!
Materials:
- One paper plate
- Yellow, black, and school colors of construction paper
- A pair of safety scissors
- Non-toxic glue
- A black marker
- Pencil
Instructions:
- Step 1: Start by painting the entire paper plate yellow using either acrylic paint or markers. Let it dry thoroughly.
- Step 2: Once the paint is dry, use your black marker to draw two big circles for the eyes and a wide, cheerful smile on your plate to make a smiley face.
- Step 3: Now, it's time to make the graduation cap. Draw a diamond on your colored construction paper. The size of the diamond will determine the size of the graduation cap, so make sure it's proportional to your plate. Cut out the diamond using safety scissors.
- Step 4: Next, cut out a smaller square from the same colored construction paper for the headband of the cap.
- Step 5: Glue the diamond to the square to form a grad cap shape and then glue to the paper plate.
- Step 6: To make a tassel, cut a small square of black construction paper. Then, cut fine strips towards the center, leaving some space uncut at the top. Roll it and glue the uncut part to the center of the cap. Or you can make a tassel from wool by wrapping it around your fingers.
Congratulations, you now have a cheerful Smiley Face wearing a graduation cap! Enjoy this symbol of achievement and joy as you celebrate this special occasion.
