Winter Toque Paper Strip Craft
Contributed by Kaitlyn Guenther

Winter is such a nice season because you get to cozy up in warm toques and fluffy scarves! My favourite part of winter is bundling up so I just couldn't resist making a toque craft... *giggle*
This craft is very simple and very fun. The paper strips add a neat pattern and allow children to be super creative. Plus... the cotton balls make for a very fluffy toque!
Materials:
- paper & printer,
- colourful construction paper,
- glue,
- scissors,
- cotton balls
Craft Instructions:
- Print out the template or draw your own toque on plain paper.
Cut out several strips of colourful construction paper.
- Try to use at least two colours in order to make a pattern.
- They don't all need to be the same width so don't worry too much about making perfect strips.
Flip the paper with the toque drawing upside down
- You can cut roughly around the toque shape to make it easier but don't cut out the template yet
- Use a glue stick to glue the construction paper strips on the toque in a pattern.
Flip the paper back over so you can see the template line and cut out the toque.
Now glue the pompom and the brim of the hat onto the pattern part of the toque.
- Using white glue, stick cotton balls to the pompom and brim.
- You may have to split the cotton balls up into smaller pieces.
Craft Templates:
- Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.
- Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
