Guy Fawkes Day Activities

November 5 is the anniversary of "the Gunpowder Plot" -- in 1605, Guy Fawkes (and a number of others) plotted to blow up the British Parliament under King James I with 36 barrels of gunpowder.

"Guy Fawkes Day" is celebrated November 5th each year by people in England with fireworks and bonfires.  Often, effigies of Guy Fawkes are burned as part of the celebration.
