Sparky the Fire Dog is the mascot for the National Fire Protection Association and he helps promote fire safety for kids. He has been doing his job since 1951, working with fire professionals, teachers, parents, and more to teach children how they can prevent fires, how to be safe if a fire did occur, and how fire professionals do their job of stopping fires and saving people. Sparky has taught these lessons in many different ways — at schools, on television, through books, on social medias, and even through online games.
Some of the Lessons Sparky has Taught Kids:
- Stop, Drop, and Roll
- Get Out & Stay Out
- Dial 9-1-1
- Know 2 Ways Out
- Checking Smoke Alarms
