Only 22 more days until Christmas!

Yesterday I talked about some ideas for helping the children raise some money for Christmas charities to involve them in the spirit of giving.  or, if your children aren't ready for charitable giving -- working to raise their own money to buy a gift for someone special to them.

Now that you have them rummaging for spare change, why not make a fun and easy craft to collect the money you've raised until you're ready to spend it.

My favorite is to make a Piggy Bank Craft.   You can add a Christmas flavor to it by painting the body red, gold or green or wrap it in Christmas wrapping paper.  I like the piggy bank because most young children identify them as a way to save money. 

You can write the name of your chosen charity on the side of the piggy bank and place it in a prominent location to help remind the family to feed it.
