On August 28, 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr.  Gave a seventeen minute long speech that is now commonly known as his "I Have a Dream" speech. His speech, given from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC was a key moment during the American Civil Rights Movement.

"Dr. King had the power, the ability, and the capacity to transform those steps on the Lincoln Memorial into a monumental area that will forever be recognized. By speaking the way he did, he educated, he inspired, he informed not just the people there, but people throughout American and unborn generations."
~ John Lewis

August 28, 2013 will be the 50th anniversary of the speech.
