Child Care Provider Appreciation Day - Friday before Mother's Day

Provider appreciation day is celebrated the Friday before Mother's Day. It's a relatively new holiday... 1996 was the first year it was celebrated. But it's definitely an appropriate event! Our children don't just spend time with their parents, but also so many other people that contribute to their growth and well-being! So this holiday is to celebrate all of the wonderful child care providers out there—the extended family, the teachers, the camp counsellors, the nannies, the daycare staff, and many more amazing childcare providers!
When I was a camp counsellor it always meant the world to me when my campers gave me gifts as a thank you for all of my hard work, and even several years later I still have all of those letters, friendship bracelets, and rocks (that's right, I have a box full of rocks!). That just goes to show how meaningful a thank you or a keepsake can be for child care providers, so think about some creative ways to thank these wonderful people for all their hard work. Below are some ideas for how children can celebrate this special day and show their gratitude for their caregivers!
