Wacky Witch Paper Craft

This cute little witch is a simple color, cut and paste paper craft for  young children to make.
 

Materials:

• a printer,
• paper,
• scissors,
• glue,
• something to colour with.
   

The photo of the witch we made is the large version -- it takes more paper, but my girls like BIG crafts *grin*.
 

Optional Materials:

• thin cardboard (old cereal boxes)
• brass tacks ("brads")
• hole punch.
   

Instructions:

• Print out the template of choice (there's a small version and a larger version).
   
• Colour pieces, as necessary.
   
• Cut out the pieces.  This step may require adult assistance.  I usually let my 3 year old cut out the large pieces (like template 1 and 4) and I cut out the smaller pieces.
   
• Glue the witch together as follows:
  • glue the head on top of the hat
  • glue the hair on top of the head
  • glue the yellow star onto the hat
  • glue the put together head onto the dress
  • glue the pumpkin, frog or cat (your choice) onto the center of the chest
  • glue the arms onto the dress, overlapping the pumpkin, frog or cat so it looks like the witch is hugging it
  • glue the legs under the dress.
     
• Alternative ASSEMBLY - moveable limbs:
  • glue the first template (dress) and the third Template (arms and legs) onto thin cardboard before cutting them out
  • glue the head on top of the hat
  • glue the hair on top of the head
  • glue the yellow star onto the hat
  • glue the put together head onto the dress
  • glue the pumpkin, frog or cat (your choice) onto the center of the chest
  • punch a hole in each of the arms and legs with a hole punch.
  • punch a hole through the dress where the arms and legs would be attached (shoulders and bottom of the dress)
  • put the brass tacks through the limbs and the dress so that the limbs are moveable.
     

Templates:

• Close the template window after printing to return to this screen.
   
• Set page margins to zero if you have trouble fitting the template on one page (FILE, PAGE SETUP or FILE, PRINTER SETUP in most browsers).
